The ANNUAL CONCERT & PRIZE DISTRIBUTION for the Academic Year 2021-22 was held on the 4th of March 2022. The Chief Guest of the day was MR. NAVIN THOMAS, Alumni of Montfort, Batch of 2001., presently the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Paragon Footwear. His beloved wife and children accompanied him. Many Brothers and Sisters of the Community too graced the occasion. The Programme had its start at 4:30 p.m. with the band escorting and leading the dignitaries to the dias. The Guest of Honour was REV. BRO. JOHNSON S., PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR of Yercaud Province.
The great mega event began with lighting the Kuthuvillakku. The Chief Guest MR. NAVIN THOMAS, REV. BRO. JOHNSON, REV. BRO. GEORGE I., the Principal of Montfort ICSE, Mr. Amalraj, the retired Office Assistant and our Principal REV. BRO. DOMNIC SAVIO lit the ceremonial lamp. The classical welcome dance enthralled the audience. The guests were felicitated by the Principal and other Brothers of the Community. Mr. Amalraj, who served Montfort for four decades was honoured by the Principal with a sash, memento, bouquet and retirement gift. The felicitation continued with the cultural programme. The culturals had a big list of a variety of entertainment programmes where all the Montfortians were on stage exhibiting their potentials. It focused on the journey of Montfort in different dimensions and the holistic education rendered by the Brothers of St. Gabriel.
Certificates and Prizes were distributed to the Prize Winners by the Chief Guest. Special Awards for the students who had excelled in different fields were awarded by the Guest of Honour, Rev. Bro. Johnson. To mention a few, Mast. VISHWANATH R.R. of Grade X recently made his two successful attempts in GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS; Mast. Sanjay Krishnan, Mast. Saikaran and Guide Teacher Mrs. Eugenia Ponmalar for their NCSC Project (NATIONAL CHILDREN’S SCIENCE CONGRESS) which made its entry into it’s National level and the team won the ‘Child Scientist’ award; and in an International Painting Competition, RAMYA R. of Grade IX, selected for the “ICS Calendar 2022” as a “Special Mention” were honoured by Rev. Bro. Johnson. The most prestigious AMITY award was conferred on Mast. Kalaipriyan of Grade XII. In his Guest of Honour’s speech, Brother congratulated all for their great display and blessed everyone.
The Biblical Play enacted by the Eleventh grade students reflected the Montfortian motto, GOD ALONE. The excellent lively performance had the perfect touch of Job’s life and won the hearts of many. The creative minds of the montfortians were compiled and presented as a Video. The year’s happenings, the harvest of abundant blessings was showcased in the Principal’s ANNUAL REPORT which won a great applause from the audience. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the students, teachers and brothers for their wonderful execution and the grandeur of the programme. At the outset, he recollected his sweet and pleasant memories of his school days and affirmed that Montfort is not just HOME AWAY FROM HOME…it’s ‘HEAVEN ON EARTH’. The exuberant celebration came to an end with the Farewell Song by the students of twelfth, MELVERIX. Long live… Montfort…!!!!
